Hilda-Clare O’Shea is a partner specialising in Child Care and Family law. She has worked for the state and for the HSE in numerous childcare proceedings and in the defence of personal injuries actions on behalf of state insurers.
Hilda-Clare is a member of the panel of legal representatives for the Mental Health Commission and acts for patients detained in psychiatric institutions. She has acted in significant High Court cases dealing with the interpretation of the Mental Health Act 2001.
Recently she has represented children and guardians ad litem in the District, Circuit and High Court. Hilda-Clare’s dedication and commitment to her clients is underpinned by her belief that the protection of children and the promotion of their rights to achieve their full potential is a fundamental cornerstone of our society. She has a growing reputation in protecting the rights of the vulnerable.
Hilda-Clare has a strong academic background and teaches in the Law School in Child law and in Mental Health law. She is a member of the Family Lawyers Association.
