Hilda-Clare O’Shea is a partner specialising in Child Care and Family law. She has worked for the state and for the HSE in numerous childcare proceedings and in the defence of personal injuries actions on behalf of state insurers.

Hilda-Clare is a member of the panel of legal representatives for the Mental Health Commission and acts for patients detained in psychiatric institutions. She has acted in significant High Court cases dealing with the interpretation of the Mental Health Act 2001.

Recently she has represented children and guardians ad litem in the District, Circuit and High Court. Hilda-Clare’s dedication and commitment to her clients is underpinned by her belief that the protection of children and the promotion of their rights to achieve their full potential is a fundamental cornerstone of our society. She has a growing reputation in protecting the rights of the vulnerable.

Hilda-Clare has a strong academic background and teaches in the Law School in Child law and in Mental Health law. She is a member of the Family Lawyers Association.

James Mc Mahon is a partner specialising in all aspects of commercial litigation and in personal injuries litigation. James’ reputation is based on proven professional skills, a thorough understanding of client requirements, sound judgment and a practical approach to resolving commercial problems.

James acts for commerical clients in contentious contractual matters, insovlency, debt collection and liquidations. James has defended very significant High Court personal injuries claims involving HSE hospitals and State facilities. James is considered one of Ireland’s leading experts in the area of defence of complex personal injuries claims relating to state care in long term institutions.

James also has a large Plaintiff Practice and has acted in numerous claims arising out of road traffic accidents, accidents in the work place and accidents in public places. He also has a keen interest in medical law and has successfully acted for plaintiffs in a large number of medical negligence cases.

Áine Hynes is a partner specialising in administrative and regulatory law for state bodies, commercial clients and NGOs. She is an experienced litigator, acting in the defence of claims against the state and she has a wealth of experience dealing with the diverse legal requirements of our clients. She is dedicated to identifying and finding the most effective and practical solutions to legal problems and works tirelessly to achieve best results for our clients.

Áine has gained a reputation for excellence and lectures for the Law Society of Ireland professional practice courses. She is the author of law society publications on EC Regulations, judicial review and litigation. Áine has a special interest in the developing area of Mental Health Law and has lectured nationally and internationally on Mental Health and Legal Capacity.

Áine is also a very experienced employment litigator, acting for statutory bodies and private clients dealing with unfair dismissals, fair procedures, equality claims and High Court bullying and harassment claims.

Áine is a Council Member of the Dublin Solicitor Bar Association; a member of the Litigation Committee of the Law Society of Ireland and Chair of the Irish Mental Health Lawyers Association.
